Exercise of the Week: SLDL

Here’s this week’s Exercise of the Week. The Single Leg Deadlift is a great balance activity and can also be great for strengthening the posterior chain. Start out with no weight and then you can progress to using dumbbells or kettlebells…

    Yep – doing it. Did it with weight in one hand and crossing over to opposite leg. Now weights in both hands and one leg up in the air – and my nose hitting the floor. LOL – J/K

    You are on target – super balance exercise.

  2. Great exercise that I use with all my hamstring pulls. I also use lunges with an added toe touch. These exercises put a lot of eccentric strain on the hamstring, so they will cause some soreness, but by doing these exercises you are training the hamstring in the mode they will be used. It is the SAID principle.
