Curls for the Girls

Bicep Curls: the ultimate body-building exercise. What function does this particular exercise actually provide on a daily basis? For most of us I say absolutely NONE. As you may know from reading my previous articles, I am all about function. Bicep curls, in my eyes, are a waste of time in the gym that I can spend elsewhere. It may be beneficial if you are trying to add muscle or regain muscle function after an injury, but that is going to be with relatively small weights.

The saying I’ve heard multiple times is that “curls are for the girls” and I can’t disagree with that idea. I’ve already said the functional benefit is minimal so why else would you do it? To look good. Guys are always worried about what the girls have to say and having those big guns can make a difference.

If you’re concerned about looking good for the girls, enjoy your curls. If you want function, leave them behind and get busy!
