Exercise of the Week: Monster Walks

I placed this exercise into my warm up rather than the main part of the workout. It’s crucial and I think it needs to be done each day. I believe this is an excellent exercise to add to your warm up because it gets your glutes active and ties your trunk into your lower extremities so that everything can work together.
Monster Walks can be done in a variety of ways. The way I teach them is to do a side-step. We take a mini-band (or tied theraband) and loop it around the lower legs. You step out laterally and then use the back leg to slowly bring your feet back together. You want to resist and control the band rather than letting it snap your feet back together.
